Saturday, October 1 · 7:30pm - 11:00pm

Flip Cup Tournament
You may have heard about this already, but if not, tonight after the last game is over, we are going to be having a FLIP CUP TOURNAMENT for charity so come play, have fun, and raise some money for the kids!! We will have teams of 6 people, $5 per person so $30 per team... Depending on participation, we will have a bracket of 8, 12 (if possible), or 16 teams. The first couple of rounds will be best out of 3 games, and the finals will be best out of 5 games. The winning teams will get a $100 in either real money or in Brennan's dollars (both can be used for drinks) and the pride and glory of being the top Flip Cup team in Dogtown!!

Respond on here letting me know your team name if you have an existing team of 6 people. Otherwise you can put your team together between now and 10pm tomorrow nite, and let me know your name when you get to the bar. We will also have a really big hat which will contain the names of all the people who wanna play, but don't have a full team so we can pick their teams out of the hat and integrate all the different teams!!! So that way all the different colored shirts can unite and conquer :-)

So pretty much come have play flip cup, drink some beers, have a ton of fun, raise money for the kids, and then have some more drinks/food on the house if you are really good in Flip Cup!!!! :-)

Charity Date Auction

Dogtown Does Dating
It’s for charity, I swear.

The charity date auction will be held at the rocking End of Season party on Oct. 1 at Yankee Doodles. The auction should kick off around 8:30 pm with all proceeds going to Children Are Our Future, which provides homes for abused and neglected teenagers. So pull out those wallets, help some kids, and get some action (the help some kids part makes this technically not prostitution)!

Keven Brooks - LOS DPS
This date promises to be a little longer than a three-hour tour. Join Keven for a day trip to beautiful Catalina island. Start with cocktails out of a brown paper sack on the hour boat ride from Long Beach Harbor to Avalon, Catalina. Explore the island and partake in a perfectly planned, but still impromptu photo shoot. Have some food and drinks on the beach before heading back across the channel (unless the date goes really well…).

Heather Quinlan - One Kick Wonders
Return to a sense of youthful fun (hey, we are kickball players) with a heated battle on the miniature golf course. This will be an exotic adventure to the Valley (you may need a compass and a map to find it) and try not to get beat by a girl (she has mad skills y’all). So, red or blue balls? Guess it depends on how the date goes…

Connor Murphy - Whiskey Kick
You know the way to a woman’s heart? Wine. Or perhaps that’s the way to a woman’s something else. Either way, Connor will treat one lucky lady to wine and tapas at the aptly named Crush Wine Bar & Bistro.

Addison Bath - Whiskey Kick
You know what makes Santa Monica so freaking awesome? You can hit the mountains and the beach in the same day. Or you can if you join Addison on his date of hiking in the Santa Monica Mountains followed by lunch/dinner overlooking the ocean at a restaurant on PCH. Do heels go with hiking clothes?

Valerie Wang - Find the Hole
Our fearless leader herself is going to take one lucky bidder to happy hour/dinner at Rusty’s Surf Ranch, followed by a night at Pacific Park. If you’re lucky, she’ll wear this outfit! Smokin’!

Tony Sano - Find the Hole
Tony is too busy fulfilling his dreams of being a top male model in Japan to submit a date idea, but you know anything he picks will be 全く驚くばかりの

Angela Kelly - Find the Hole
Don’t let the animal print fool you. This is one domestic goddess with a crazy penchant for adventure. Start off parasailing (I know, right?) then shower up and head to dinner, complete with a homemade dessert and wine pairing! I smell bidding war.

Frank Owens - Westside on Hiatus
Take a trip across the country in just four blocks with these brown eyes. Start at the New York-inspired West 4th/Jane for some dinner and drinks and then hit up the Coney Island-esque Santa Monica pier carnival games. Frank will even try to win you a teddy bear. Don’t miss the Sex on a Plate Dessertwich at West 4th/Jane- or perhaps that’s best saved for the, ahem, “walk” on the beach to end the evening.

Lenny Mazel - Looking to Score
Iron Man Lenny is keeping the sand warm for your date, which will start with drinks, a walk by the ocean, dinner on Montana including dessert (there’s always room for dessert), and potential makeout session depending on how the first 3 parts turn out :-) (he wrote that part himself).

Brad Nelson - Looking to Score
Despite being volunteered at the last minute (what are friends for?), Brad has come up with a killer date idea. Music-loving ladies prepare your best mosh pit moves (or slow jam shuffle and snap) for a night at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. You’ll get there early and snag a seat at the restaurant for some pre-show noshing before taking in a TBD show at the intimate venue. Think “Caress Me Down” at Sublime tribute, Oct. 8. Yep, “That’s what I got.”

More Charity Information

Charity Photo Shoot! One of our league members, J Pinder, is a professional photographer and has volunteered his services to shoot photos for a sexy 12-month Dogtown Calendar. Ideally, we'd love for each team to represent a month. However in order for this to happen we need all of you to volunteer! If you'd like to model for this calendar and represent your team, email J at jbpinder@gmail.com. Check out his portfolio here. Calendars will be sold online and at EOS. All proceeds will go towards our charity.

Team Recaps

Whiskey Kick

Hotbox 9 Whiskey Kick 2
Another week goes by and Team Whiskey Kick has received yet another ransom note. These inhumane bastards have begun torturing our beloved captains:

Look at this!!! Forcing them to drink inordinate amounts of beer, they’re probably trying to force them into alcoholism or early liver failure. Our calls to the US Government have fallen on deaf ears. One congressional page told us that Congress’ concerns go in the following order:
1-      The economy
2-      Fixing the BCS and NCAA
3-      Accepting huge earmarks and bribes
4-      Molesting congressional pages (they actually were crying when they said this to me)
5-      Totally screwing over the middle class
6-      Maybe, helping citizens being held abroad, if they have time.
Disgusting right? Well take a look at how else they are torturing our teammates:

They’ve taken them to the Eiffel tower and I bet they wouldn’t even let them see it. Plus there is the whole issue that they’ve been taken to France. This is total bullshit. The problem is we are no closer to finding out who these bastards are.
“Dear Whiskey Kick-
ONE team can only have so many KICKs in a season before they have to WONDER if everything they do is worthless. ONE thing we know is that soon you won’t have to WONDER about your captains for much longer, soon they’ll KICK the bucket. Have you ever WONDERed why we took your captains in the first place? We bet you’re just KICKing yourselves with worry. You have ONE more chance to insure they’re safety. Do not succeed on Wednesday and you’re team will be ONE, once again.
Signed
Unnamed League Official”

So of course during our game with Hotbox we felt immense pressure to make sure our missing teammates stayed safe. Hotbox had no such worries and decided it was a good night for a kicking clinic. They railed us for a number of runs but then Adam B on our squad took notes on said clinic and proved he learned his lessons well by knocking one out of the box. Bringing the final to 9-2 Hotbox.
This week we face off against One Kick Wonders and they’ve been oddly quiet in the trash talking department.
