Jiminy Kick-It PLAYOFF HIGHLIGHTS:

--Remember when the girls muggin' carried us all night long?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Seriously, Michele, Michelle, Ashley, Abbey, Jenna, Caitlin, Lindsay, the males of JK are forever indebted to you for last night's win.  We'd love to sing to you on bended knee before tonight's game to show our appreciation.  Song?  Ladies' choice.

--Michele bopping an RBI single to score b-day girl Ash-tastic, a clutch kick reminiscent of what Hubby Aaron usually does at the dish.

--Caitlin scoring run #2 with a "pickle-esque" run halfway home, then back to 3rd, then back to home.

--Previously mentioned Hubby Aaron's shot heard round the world homer from heaven/wild scamper around the bases.  And 5 innings of lights out work on the bump, his shutout only ruined by...

--Thiiiiiiiiis guy's wild throw home after a perfect relay throw from Abbey in center.  Good thing Thomas (aka 'Best Flirt') had a chat with Co-cappy J and he won't be throwing home like that anytime soon.

--B-day girl's pair of catches and intimidating play at 3rd, at one point staring down a runner as she firmly entrenched herself on the bag, ready to tag.

TEAM

"Team" put up one hell of a fight. With bases loaded and half the team missing we gave Kickstart my heart. Had a blast and will definitely be returning for another season as veterans. Be prepared for most improved team to return!!!

What an awesome season....

Here's our final Tramp Stamp Picture.

You're welcome.  TRAMP STAMPS!

Whiskey Kick Hates Losing

Well the number 1 seed got eliminated in the first round. We reverted to classic Whiskey Kick and just gave up the ghost. Nothing more to say about that except that we donated our portion of the regular season championship money to Planned Parenthood. They rejected it, so we donated it to Budweiser.

See you next season.

Winter 2012- Week 9

PLAYOFFS!

Here is the playoff and reffing schedule:
For a better version, go here: http://valeriecwang.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/24-team-playoffs-schedule-3-30-12.pdf

PLAYOFF RULES
Start Times: Because ties are not allowed in Playoff games, all games automatically run longer. There is NO fifteen-minute grace period for the 7 PM game. The 7 PM game MUST start by 7:05 PM. The 8 PM and 9 PM games must be ready to go by 8:05 PM and 9:05 PM respectively. However, the 8 PM and 9 PM games should not cut the prior game short just to get their game started.

In the event we are unable to finish a 9 PM game before the lights go out, the game will be rescheduled and played in its entirety. Like during the regular season, only 3 innings are needed for a game to count. In the event the lights go out in the middle of a game, you have to revert back to the score at the end of the last full inning, IF at least 3 full innings have been played. If the game score is not a tied score, then the game score will count. If the game score IS a tie, we will find a time to make up the game.

With all that said, every game should be played on a tight schedule. Pitchers should not take too long in between plays positioning their players, teams shouldn’t take too long to get their teams onto the field between innings. Refs can and are expected to use the “Delay of Game” call when needed, to make sure games stick to an hour as closely as possible.

Forfeits: Forfeits in the Playoffs are the same as forfeits in the regular season. You MUST have at least 4 girls and 4 guys present by the time your game is scheduled to start. If you fail to provide refs for a game you are assigned to ref, you will automatically forfeit your game. If you fail to bring home equipment at the end of the day when you are assigned to do so, you will also automatically forfeit your next scheduled game.

Line-ups Exchange: Remember, at the beginning of each game, Captains are expected to exchange their kicking line-up. Any variance from the written kicking line-up can result in automatic outs for every player that is skipped but present.

Overtime Policy: In the event of a tie score after 5 innings, up to two (2) extra FULL innings will be played until a winner is determined. Each extra inning will be played with the Overtime Rules -- (1) The last kicker from the previous inning will start the overtime inning on second base, (2) Only eight (8) players are allowed in the outfield. The players must be 4 men and 4 women., (3) All kickers start with an unmodified count (0 balls, 0 strikes, 0 fouls). If the game is still tied at the end of 2 overtime innings, Rock-Paper-Scissors will be played to determine the winner. 3 representatives from each team will play in a game of RPS. The first team to win 2 games (best out of 3) wins the kickball game.

T-shirts: In playoff games, we will enforce the WAKA T-shirt policy. Anyone who is playing MUST wear your official WAKA team tshirt. Any player without his/her WAKA shirt is ineligible to play.

Red Cards: As always, ONLY the team's two captains are allowed to TALK to the refs. Any team player that is not a captain, must refrain from talking to any of the refs. If a non-captain player speaks to a ref in an aggressive tone (or even a captain -- remember, the right is to discuss, not yell), the ref can give the player a warning. When it happens again, the player will be issued a Yellow Card and ejected from the game. If it happens again in the next game, the player can and will be banned from the playoffs entirely.

FREEBASE

Our winless Freebase team had little trouble beating Ball So Hard. They must have been too focused on trying to fight us in the street after the game.

It was a quick game because we didn't want to take up too much of their time. They had to go home and learn what tagging up on a caught ball means.

Even as friends as umpires, Ball So Hard couldn't overcome their complete lack of athleticism and terrible bunting to score 2 in the last innings as their captain went down of 4 straight foul balls.

--Kelly throwing a jaw-dropping, "how on earth did she do that?!" frozen rope from center to 3rd base as she nearly gunned down a runner.

--AK47 Aaron yet again doing more than just dealing heat on the mound, as he cleared the bases with a clutch triple.

--Wifey Michele looking good to go in her "ready position" out in right field.

--SacTown's Finest Jenna beebopping to the beat blasting from Pipe City's speakers for pretty much the entire game, once even uttering the phrase "Daaaaaang... they're playing my exact iPod workout mix!"

--Central Arkansas's Finest Token Thomas playing extremely relaxed after a fun day with buddies on the links.

--JK setting a new record for fan attendance with a whopping THREE groupies showing up. Big ups to Donn Kerr, Julie Broadwell and Braden Mogler!

--Caitlin's Man Candy, Dubs Robertson booking it from a black tie affair rubbing elbows with presidential hopeful Rick Santorum to come play/ref like a champ. That's dedication, folks!

--Scottie 2 Hottie playing a game reminiscent of MJ in Game 5 of the '98 Finals when he dropped like 40-something points! And trophy wife Ashley's sick catch!

--The Return of Reegan. 'Nuff said.

Kicks McGee
In what can only be described as a sunburst of kickball badassery, Kick McGee's luminous orange met Ron's vibrant yellow in a showdown worthy of the "Last Regular Season Game" title. Was there kicking? By the hammer of Thor, was there kicking!
Though Ron (Swanson? Burgundy? Weasley? Jeremy?) put up a helluva fight, Kicks McGee was able to secure a victory, DOUBLING their number of wins. That's just math.
If I still cared enough to hand out MVP awards at the end of each game, it would have been to good old Todd "Toddzilla" Daugherty for his panty-dropping home run and (kind of disgusting) showboating on his run home.
Are we ready for the playoffs now? You bet your sweet asses.

A BIG thank you to our army of fans for coming to our game last night to cheer us on!!!

The team we played was ranked 3rd in our league so even though we lost 3-1, we did a great job of holding our own.

I think the Penthouse pre-game celebrations helped (thank you Nina). :)

Our game MVPs – Nat (quick feet, tons of outs), Nick (superior pitching), Jason (flying tiger catches), Christine (barrel roll)

Go Phelpstars!!!!

Yeeeeeahhh Ummmm....

Whiskey Kick Loves Kickball

Our last regular season game of the season was a rousing success. In typical Whiskey Kick fashion we met up for a pre-game BBQ at WK HQ. We invited our opponents TEAM over to share in our joy. We all learned a lot about each other and killer whales, because someone put an Orca special on the TV and we are all enthralled. Like did you know that there are actually 3 to 5 different types of Killer Whales? Crazy right?

When game time came, we trundled over to the field and had a blast with TEAM. I think they had a blast with us. Either way it was fun.

You know what isn't fun? The dire situation the world population of Orcas is in. These beautiful and graceful creatures are in danger of extinction.
